The secret to being fast is in being organized . . .

I recently had a web client provide a complete trip to visit his business and gather information on the company and the area for a few days in Petersburg, Alaska before making his website.  Details are very important to me and I try to cover any and all of the fine points which would enhance your website business presence. Having a lot of life and business experience, I can also provide suggestions to enhance your own ideas and help guide your focus when it comes to your website. 

During the development of your website, you will be able to watch your website as it unfolds and also provide valuable feedback during the entire design process. I'm very fast and don't like unfinished projects that drag on. Once you've done your part in providing me any special content and photo elements you have for your website, it will be done in a very timely manner. (I can give an estimate of time once I know the scope of the project.)

There are some really great high-tech web designers who make website features with a lot of movement, noise and flashy stuff, but quite often those features sacrifice a lot of a website's effectiveness. In my opinion, a  website isn't much good to you if it doesn't function right or isn't found in the search engines!

As a courtesy to my clients, upon completing their website development project, I use special software to submit your new web site to the search engines. I do not, will not, and cannot guarantee your ranking in the search engines. That is something I have no control over (no one except the search engine companies control rankings).

For search engine optimization, I always do my best to observe and suggest things that are most advantageous for client websites to keep moving them up to the best of my ability.

Things you cannot expect from your website:

NOT AVAILABLE FROM YOUR WEBSITE - Pages to print out as a brochure or flyer.
Website graphics are very different from those created for printed materials, so please don't expect what I create for your website to necessarily work for printed materials. Websites are not like a printed page, they are more fluid and have entirely different parameters. That is the reason you cannot successfully print out your web pages to use as a brochure or flyer so please don't expect that they will.

You can have me or someone else recreate the content in software for printed materials, but it just isn't going to work to have your website function as both a website on the internet and a brochure you can print out from it. It just doesn't work that way. I am only creating the graphics for your website, but if you need the services of a graphic artist, I'd be happy to refer you to several I know.

NO GUARANTEES - Search engine placement . . .
I am a web designer, not a search engine specialist . . . however, I have great results because I do my best to conscientiously add the elements that will help make your website optimal. I research and collect comprehensive hidden "keywords" (compiled from what you provide and from my own internet research relevant to your industry). In addition to meta tags, I also strongly suggest adding applicable links for other high ranking sites. I make every effort to impress on you the need to provide a lot of relevant industry specific text on your home page.  

Since search engines all use different methods of indexing websites, there aren't really a set of rules that apply across the board. There is a lot of controversy about the legitimacy of companies that charge people saying they can get them higher in search engines. I've read that things like Pay-Per-Click are questionable, too, so I really don't refer you to anyone for search engine ranking services.

Your role and participation is important because you can help your ranking by directing more traffic to your site through your own advertising efforts to increase the number of hits you get. The more hits, the faster you move up in search engines. Sometimes ranking can take up to six months (or longer depending on the competition in your industry), for your site to come up in search lists. Patience is a huge factor. You cannot expect to instantly move up through thousands of websites to get to the top! Your website is an investment that takes patience. The longer it is on the internet and the more traffic it has driven to it from your ad campaigns, the better.
