Frequently Asked Web Design Questions
How long does it take for project planning and discussions?
Discussions usually take 2+ hrs over the course of the project. Discussions include planning domain name options, hosting set-up, photo and text editing, time searching for appropriate royalty-free stock photos . . . plus optimization procedures, keyword and key phrase compilation, along with your custom design.
Once your site is completed, you can opt to add new pages
at any time in the future. For sites with 6 or more pages
I include 5 custom error pages, and a site map at no extra
charge. Sites with PayPal include a 'thank you for your
order' page at no extra charge.
What about search engine optimization?
I specialize in good organic search engine optimization in the process of creating your website. Beware of SEO SCAMMERS who will try to convince you to spend hundreds or thousands to be at the top of the rankings.
I will do my best to work with your budget and give you
what you need. I don't often have a request to take credit
cards for my payment, but if you want to pay with your
credit card using PAYPAL, I
will send you an invoice that will include a 3% fee as a
portion of the fee PayPal charges me.
Payment schedule for web design fees
A minimum of 50% as prepayment is required to begin a
project, or full payment may be made in advance to ensure
being added to the schedule. Final payment is due as soon as
the project is finished and launched and I appreciate
payments made as promptly as provide your services.
Website updating fees
Updates and changes are made on an 'as needed' basis, or a set monthly maintenance fee if your site requires frequent updating (like association websites). After a website is completed, it doesn't take long to make updates, so figure $15-25 for a to-15 minutes. If it takes me less than 5 minutes, I don't charge anything.
Extensive changes to your website can certainly be made (if you've moved to another area and need to change a lot of the info, etc.), and fees will be discussed and set ahead of time.
